I just started using the Food feature on my Fitbit, and I'm really confused about the number of calories it's allowing me to eat. I selected 2lb/week weight loss, which is a 1,000 calorie/day deficit.
So far today, it says I've consumed 150 calories, and have 1195 calories out (this includes a 30 min run/walk this morning) and it is telling me I'm only allowed another 714 calories for the day. This seems crazy to me!! By this math, I'm only allowed to eat 864 calories total. By contrast, with the same information the MyFitnessPal app says I can eat another 1,249 calories. What did I do wrong??

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @kenzierose. I am sorry for the delayed response.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern regarding the number of calories you're allowed to eat. Thank you for providing the additional details. A calorie deficit is when you burn more calories than you consume in a day and your daily calorie deficit target is determined by the level of intensity you choose for your food plan. When you log your food intake each day, you see how many calories you eat versus your estimated calories burned. For more information, see How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned? Please find more information about the food plan in this help article: How do I track my food with the Fitbit app?
Please let me know if your Fitbit account and MyFitnessPal are linked? If so, you will see a calorie adjustment from Fitbit. Whenever MyFitnessPal receives calorie burn data from your Fitbit Tracker, it compares that to the projected calorie burn for your account and adjusts your calorie goal accordingly.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.
