Calorie count is way too low.

I have been tracking my calorie burn as well as calorie intake for two years. I have done this by dutifully recording my data and weight. I run, lift, do hiit etc. I am relatively fit with a low fat % and lean muscle mass. My resting calorie burn is around 2500-2600 calories. FitBit is way too low. Nearly 500 calories per day low. It skews any data. What is the fix for this?

Hello @Dfisci and welcome to the Help forums.  We see questions like yours often, especially from users who might have gotten a Bod Pod measurement.  Fitbit estimates your resting metabolic rate using the Mifflin St Jeor equation.  This formula estimates calorie burn over a wide range of body types.  Someone like you will burn more calories at rest than someone of equal weight with a higher percent body fat.  I believe that your description of yourself is enough to account for the difference.

The calorie burn provided by Fitbit is an estimate.  It has limitations.  One thing you can do is manually log a "bogus" non-step exercise.  From the app dashboard, tap on your exercise tile, then the stopwatch.  Toggle it to log, then log weights for any duration and a 500 calorie burn.  You will have to do this every day.  Or accept the limitations and follow trends.

There is nothing wrong with your Versa.  The advice offered by @SunsetRunner will not change how your Versa behaves in this case.

Hi, try restarting your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons together untill you see the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. Usually this procedure solves a lot of these kind of problems.
