Hi there! I’m looking to change the function of the button on my Fitbit versa lite but I can’t figure out how to change it. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you in advance!

Hello,

So what you do is you go into the settings app, then you scroll down a little bit, then you click into the button that says "Left Button" then the watch will display a numerous amount of features.  Pick what you want your left button to do when you press and hold it, then scroll to the bottom and hit the button marked "Save".

Hi @almeidac , go to the settings of your Versa Lite and press it. Scroll down untill you find the "left button" setting and press it and choose the setting that you want. That's all, regards kuzibri

I think both of our watches are different because mine was updated just a few weeks to a month ago, and that all changed.  Kuzibri's watch has the other "change function" button. Just letting you know so you don't get confused why there are two different replies for the same watch.

Hi, I have the latest firmware version, e.g. 70.1.14. so all in all by pressing the left button in the settings we have both the same options.

Thanks for the response! I don’t see a setting option on either the app or
the versa lite itself - I am technologically challenged. Could you give a
more detailed explanation? Thanks!

I don’t show the “left button” option in settings that you suggest.  When I go to settings on my watch face and tap it, my options as I scroll down are 1. Brightness 2. Display Awake 3. Vibrations 4. Heart Rate 5. Notifications and 6. About.  There is no option for “left button”.  I am bummed because I had this set on my Fitbit but my Fitbit broke and I have a new one (just got today) but aren’t able to get this function set up....I used it all the time with my other Fitbit.  Can someone help?  Am I being technologically challenged and not understanding what to do?  Haha

I just received a replacement Versa Lite today and am having the same issues.  The replacement device almost looks like a different/old version compared to what I had.  The icons on the screen are different and I no longer have the option to control what the left button does.

I’m having the same problem! My original Fitbit Versa Lite broke, so I was sent a replacement that now has no ‘left button’ setting! Really frustrating as I used this function a lot on my previous watch.

I tried contacting support yesterday and they made it seem like it was because of an update. But I knew that couldn’t be right because my defective tracker that was on my wrist until yesterday morning was updated and had the newer icons and the left button option in Settings. It was almost like the new/replacement one was outdated or a few updates behind.

After I got off the chat, I went back into my settings and did a factory reset on the new/replacement one... it worked! The icons were now updated and the left button option was back in my settings.

I think maybe something just didn’t work correctly when I did the initial setup? Not sure, but I hope this helps!

Wow - you’re far more helpful than the customer service team! This worked for me too! Thanks so much.

I spent a while on the phone to them this morning and they said the same thing to me - that it was to do with an update. They ended the call by asking me to send some photos and they’ll investigate further, so no real answers were given. Thanks so much for sharing! I’m so pleased it’s been resolved, I was really beginning to lose faith in FitBit.
