Every time I touch the screen or hold the side button for any length of time it says " unlock with your phone ". I can't even turn it off.  Can't find anything on the app on my phone that deals with this. Ugh! App has been updated.

It sounds like you are getting into Fitbit Pay.  Check your shortcuts to see if one is set for that.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
