Clock time accuracy

Hi,

I'm interested in the versa 2 watch mainly for recording the time stamp for work purposes (not so much fitness).  I utilize accurate (gps) time for field work and wondering how this versa clock syncs with my iPhone.  I know the iphone's are gps synced so the clock time is pretty accurate. Does the versa 2 clock sync with my iphone regularly? Does the versa clock "drift" until it re-syncs with my phone since the versa doesn't have a built-in gps chip?  Has anyone compared the versa 2 clock with an actual gps enabled device (vehicle navigation street gps clock, etc) or compared their iphone clock (with seconds) to the seconds on the versa?

Looks like I will be downloading a custom clock face that shows seconds too. 🙂

Paulo, I have been using various Fitbit models for about 3 years now, currently a Versa 2. I sync with a Windows 10 computer which checks the time every hour and syncs with the National Bureau of Standards in Colorado. I sync several times a day usually and am a correct time nut.  I have checked my Versa many many times for accuracy and the most it has ever varied is 4 seconds. You must realize, however, that if you go extended times between syncs, the chances of inaccuracy increase.

Addendum: For a very elegant digital clock face with seconds and all stats available and many settings, check out "Minimal Style". Use the Clock App Search Function.

Good to another Time Nut in the community. Except Apple watch, I haven’t come across any other Smartwatch brand prioritizing time accuracy. Apple watches are specially designed to keep the watches synced to Apple NTP time servers which give much better time accuracy than Cellular network time which most phones get synced. When the watches sync through Bluetooth, the time accuracy degrades further. Apple GPS only watches take care of that by quality temperature-controlled Clock oscillators and software manipulations to get the time accurate within 50 milliseconds.  So even the Samsung LTE watches aren’t accurate to a second and one can easily notice the lag by comparing to a NTP synced time source. Lets petition to Fitbit to bring accurate time feature.
