Connected GPS & Versa without mobile data

Is it possible to use the Fitbit Versa with an old phone (that no longer has a sim card) for GPS tracking, or do you need an active wifi connection and data for GPS?

I would like to take an old beat up device on runs, but without a sim card, will this work? I assume I can connect to wifi before and after the run to sync to the app itself. Would I need specific apps (offline maps) to make this work?

@Czerndd9 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! According to the instructions found in the help site it is actually recommended to have wifi off but mobile data on. Still you could give it a try with a short walk whenever you can and check the results. Whatever the results please share them here.

Let me know how it goes!
