Device not charging - My experience with Support

I have been a fit bit fan and consumer since 2010 as we reach 2020 I am saddened to have to come to this.

I bought three of the first fit bits ever for my friends and family, I encouraged the purchase of several fit-bits with the selling point that most of us working class can’t text or make phone calls at work or in class, and also the fact that you don’t add a phone line to your service if you purchased an Apple Watch instead. When the fitbit versa special edition came out, I bought it. On 12/19 my fit bit stopped charging, I did all the trouble shooting I could find online, and left my fit bit charging for an entire day, sad and disappointed I finally called the customer service department where they informed me I had already performed all the troubleshooting there was available, they then informed me my fit bit was out of warranty by 5 months. I asked them how they could help me considering I paid the retail cost of 300 dollars for this item and had only had it for a year and a few months.... there was no damage to the item as I have taken extreme good care of the item. They stated once the fit bit is out of warranty they can’t do anything for me.... I was shocked to hear that so I read the warranty book and noticed the UK gets a two year warranty vs the us. I asked about that and they informed me the UK has laws that require a two year warranty.

They offered me a 40 percent discount for a new fit bit... I went online and the online retail cost for a regular consumer was lower than the discount they were offering me... By ten dollars. I state to the tech support supervisor I had asked to be transferred to “you are offering me 40 percent off but the item is being sold to all US consumers for less.... So you're really not offering me anything... She then stated that was correct. I ask her if this has been a continuous issues ? And she states she can’t disclose that information. At this point I thank her for her time and end the 45 minute conversation... saddened and disappointed I go to my local target to buy a new charger in hopes that it is just a charger issue... my local target does not have the charger I try Best Buy and Kohl’s and they also do not have the charger. I travel a city over and find the charger, I plug it in and hope this will fix my 300 dollar investment..... and sadly it does not fix my issue.... I return the new charger and drive home upset that a company I promoted, advertised, and recommended to so many and a company I have invested over 2000 dollars in the span of their life would try to get me to buy another item of theirs instead of doing right by my purchase and trying to figure out what the issue with my item is.

It makes no sense for it to stop working unless their products are defective. I really don’t want to buy an Apple Watch please Fitbit help your faithful consumers who spend plenty on your products and keep you going!

If you are aware of the issues with versas not charging anymore why is fitbit promoting the sell of them ? Why not acknowledge the issues and state the obvious? The Versa battery is faulty
