Why does the heart rate overview show different heart rates than the exercise overview for the exact same exercise? In the first it shows that my max. Hr on this run was around 158 on the heart rate view, whereas the second shows a hr of around 178 in the exercise view.

Because the overview is broken down into larger periods than the 1 second periods during an event recording.

Thanks for your reply. But that doesn't explain a difference of 20bpm....and more importantly; which one is the correct one?what was my 'real' hr during this particular exercise?

The first screenshot was the exercise (first run in forever on a hilly terrain😏) .for about 49 minutes in the afternoon. The 2nd screenshot is the heart rate shown over the entire day, the red spikes being that run. I reckon that first one is more accurate.
