Disappointed faulty strap

I purchased a versa lite Wednesday last week. After a few hours the strap came detached from the watch twice. I checked for guidance from the Fitbit site, reattached and checked it was secure. All seemed well until we went to town (just walking around). Came home to realise the watch had fallen off because of the issue. Given it was a week old it should not have general wear and tear or a defect. I contacted Fitbit however their response is tough. How is this fair after less than a week?
