Does Versa Standard Edition have NFC?

Hi all.

Has anyone got any definitive info about the standard edition having / not having NFC outside the US? I’ve seen information that it does have it, but all the marketing still says Special Edition only. It’s not a huge deal - there’s only 2 banks in UK supporting it - but it could be handy for Starbucks. I’ve preordered the standard edition but now having buyer’s remorse. Or more accurately probably, buyer’s jitters.

All European sales include NFC due to wider adoption of the technology in Europe. In Europe the only difference between the standard and special editions is the bands.

I thought as much, but the product page in the UK store still says it's Special Edition only in the small print. Not great marketing on Fitbit's part.

We may have a wider adoption of contactless payments here, but the banks aren't very open to adopting it in mobile apps etc. Apple Pay helped, but we've still got loads of banks with zero interest in making their cards available in multiple payment apps. I've got one that works with Apple Pay, one that works with Android Pay and none will work Fitbit Pay. One bank insists they won't make contactless available in mobile apps due to wanting people to use its own app. However they allow Apple Pay. Very suspicious to me. Thanks for that though.

Just to clarify, you don't need to have the NFC to use the Starbucks app since it practically shows a barcode on the display to scan with the Starbucks scanner.
