Hello everyone,
I had previously posted a problem I was facing with not being able to read my text messages on my Versa device, with the exception of WhatsApp, IG, etc. I would only get the "message" notification, but was not able to read the regular text message itself. For those Android users follow the steps below so that you can read your messages.
1. Open your messages app on your phone
2. Go to settings
3. Notifications
4. Scroll down to more settings in app
5. Turn on Preview Message
That should fix the problem.

It's easier to understand what settings you have to check depending on the situation you're facing when you already have the knowledge that the only thing that the Fitbit App does is copying the notification banner (everything that it has) and sending it back to the watch through Bluetooth.
If you receive a message from someone who's muted in messenger, the notification won't appear on your phone and it won't appear on the watch neither.
If you receive an email and the app was messed up and showed "Unknown scripterr8487" on your phone, that's what will go through and appear on the watch.
Nevertheless, it's nice to see that you're sharing your findings because it really helps when people have access to specific instructions without having to navigate through previous messages on a topic.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 8 I don't have an option to preview message. How can I fix this problem?
Do you use the Message+ or Messages. I only see it if I use Messages not Message+

I am having this same issue but the solution did not work for me I had the blaze previously and would receive all text and phone notifications, with the versa I am unable to get either I sent a test call which worked but actual texts and calls do not I have a Samsung Galaxy 7s Any help would be appreciated. No I reached out to fitbit via Facebook messenger and they are working on the issue. I am getting every notification except text. I will let you know if I figure it out.

I have the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 and am having the same issues where I cannot see my text messages (I can see call and emails). I have tried multiple different text apps and none are working. What am I doing wrong?

Message+ is still not working for me. It's been several weeks. It's really annoying; what's the point of having so much screen real estate if you can't use it?

This totally resolved my issue. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and was also getting notified that a text had come in but the message wasn't getting transmitted to the Versa. Thanks for posting the steps to fix this. Defintely not something most users would figure out on their own.
