Explain the Versa Problems

So, let me get this straight... I have to have the Fitbit app open on my phone in order to use the Alexa feature built in?...not only does that waste data but also my phone battery. This is pointless. Also, I can not reply to texts on my Versa 2. I receive texts, but can not reply. And 3rd, when I cycle, the watch does not track my average pace. Is this the same where I need to open the app and start it on there as well? I tried making sure all my location and settings are on for the app. So this is not the problem. Someone please help. Seriously considering returning this and getting an Apple Watch that actually works.

Since your question @cmascola223 is asking about the phone, it would be beneficial to include the phone type.

In general, the phone needs permission to run in the background,  it might also need to be moved to the background before the phones screen times out.

Also power management for the Fitbit app may need to be disabled.

As for the ability to reply, Apple has disabled this feature for ios.

Was the phone with you during the cycling and did you get a map of the ride?
