Feedback for Versa 2

I absolutely loved my Versa and looked forward to the new version.   As is often the case, new isn't always better... I have had the Versa 2 for less than 24 hrs and sadly its being returned this afternoon.

The following items are deal breakers for me....

1)  There is no longer an ambient light sensor with automatic adjustment for dim-bright.  This has to be done manually !  What were you thinking here Fitbit !!!!

2)  The auto disable notifications when sleep is detected is now also a manual process, you have to remember to put the stupid device into sleep mode every night.

3)  That hokey pull down menu for quick settings is very poorly implemented !  It covers the top half of the notification pane and has to be pushed out of the way each and every time.

4)  The black case was much classier IMHO than the dark grey

5)  Alexa integration is pitiful.... lets just leave it at that !

Actually the Versa 2 already has an ambient light sensor, it's just that the window isn't visible in the bezel like previous models. It works though as I've tested it by shining a light at my Versa 2 and the screen adjusts accordingly. You can also see it in action in this YouTube video (here).

I agree with point 2. For someone like me that has irregular bedtimes and wake up times, setting this to a fixed schedule is worse than the automatic setting.

3. I somewhat agree with, although for me the menu slides up on its own after about a second. It's something I can live with.

4. This is just personal preference, I prefer the lighter casing.

5. Completely disagree on this one. Alexa has worked wonderfully for me, it's quick, I can reply to messages straight from my watch, control home automation and set alarms and reminders. I am using Android though and know that certain features are not available on iOS, I'm unsure how smooth the iOS experience is.

Thank you for your thorough response . I just tested the ambient light sensor and it does work . Funny, I called Fitbit support about this and they agreed it was discontinued . Lol.  They suggested I put in a feature request to get it back!  I will give Alexa another try, the real deal breaker was the ambient light sensor... Maybe I'll keep this thing now .

@cpurchas Excellent, I'm glad that's one issue sorted.

What problems were you experiencing with Alexa?

Mostly lagging when connecting to my August smart locks, I'm also learning that l need to speak directly into the microphone for better results.  Simply raising my wrist and speaking towards the watch face has mixed results.

Yes there is a slight delay it seems when controlling smart devices. I guess it's inevitable when the watch has to send your voice command to the phone via Bluetooth, then onto Amazon's servers.
