Firmware update breaks Versa

I have the original Versa tracker and the new firmware update has broken my tracker. Halfway through the update it killed my battery and it will not turn on or restart. I called Fitbit support and they said because I am out of warranty I will get 25% off a new $200 tracker at best. I will never be purchasing a new Fitbit device  and will not be recommending any products to friends in the future.

Same problem with me. If this is some attempt to get their customers to upgrade to the newer models they've failed miserably. Who's to say the same things won't happen with the new model in the future. Definitely won't be buying from FitBit again

The exact same thing happened to me (original Versa owner--downloaded software update, the watch started glitching and then went totally black and is busted). They offered me: 25% off any new Fitbit device or 40% on the Versa Lite. The warranty on my device has also expired. I pushed back on the rep given that this appears to be a Fitbit problem--who buys a smart watch with the expectation of it dying after 2 years due to a software update that Fitbit ITSELF pushed out. I loved both my Versa (while it worked) and my Charge HR before it but I am off to become an Apple convert now.

This has just happened to me, came to the site to see if others had the same thing... 

 

Left my watch on the charger next to my phone, ran the update and went to bed, woke up to a dead watch screen.  Fitbit support offered to send me a discount to buy a new one because it's out of warranty.. 

 

An offer to spend more money on a new one with a slight discount is absolutely ludicrous...  I did NOTHING to break it, this is not a warranty issue, it's a firmware fault.

Same thing here! Soon to be an ex Fitbit user since it broke during an update! They offered 35% that is nothing, it was their firmware that killed my out of warranty watch! I should be getting a replacement with only shipping cost!
