Firmware update stuck

My husbands fit bit has been stuck on the update at 100% and has frozen. We have been through all the trouble shooting that Fitbit has suggested but to no avail he  has just received a replacement which was a refurb but is sill having the same problems. They suggest we use a computer but we only have a MacBook and this will not work. We have contacted Fitbit again but had n joy other than processing another replacement. We have even tried setting up a new account with no luck. Surely the problem is the update.
