I have brought a brand new fitbit versa special edition but I can't complete setup as It won't download firmware, I have tried several times and even uninstalled everything and done a factory reset but Still no luck. Can anybody offer any further advice as I am about to give up and return it.

Sometimes it just takes a bit of wiggling around to get things sorted out and it looks like that is just what you did.

How are you trying to do the set up - computer or mobile device? Android, iOS or Windows?

I am having the same problem but I have tried all ways and it still will not download the update. It days it's updating for hours once I got a complete message and 3 times I've gotten a failed message. My versa screen still only shows the fitbit logo saying to download the app. I tried the factory reset by holding the buttons twice now and never felt a strong vibration. I am about to return it! Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am trying to update my Fitbit Versa also with the new release firmware but it always say “firmware update failure”. I have used both WiFi and Bluetooth and got the same message. Been trying to update it for days now eversince the new update was released. And I am getting frustrated already.
I have also tried manually resetting it but I still got the same error. I should not have updated it, it was working fine before I was asked to update to the the firmware. 😭

I am having the same problem. I have reset my fitbit... Uninstalled the app and re installed it .. Ive rest my phone and shutdown the fitbit... Ive tried WiFi only and Bluetooth only... Its not syncing i am at the end of my tether all my previous fitbits had been fab this versa is annoying and its freezing and clock disappears
