Fitbit Update 8/23/18:

Hey, everyone! Just wanted to thank you all for your participation in this thread.

Since the majority of Versa users have successfully updated to OS 2.1.1 (v32.32.10.15) I have decided to close this topic from further comments.

If you still have not updated your Versa to OS 2.1.1, check out this help article for how to update your device. Please complete this update so that you're prepared for the next release.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Versa unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the Community or find a related topic.

Thanks for all your feedback and contributions on this thread. We're looking forward to bringing you all the next Fitbit OS update! Smiley Happy

Fitbit Update 05/11/2018: We have released Fitbit OS 2.1 to 100% of Versa users (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15).

Hi, everyone! Smiley Happy

I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 2.1! (Firmware Version: 32.32.10.15)

We've started to roll out this update to 10% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

WHAT’S NEW

Introducing quick replies. Send customized responses to text messages and messages from select messaging apps with your Fitbit watch. Note that this feature is currently only available on watches paired to an Android phone. For more information, see How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?

WHAT’S FIXED

This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here.

I recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article

If you run into any trouble updating your Versa, I can also recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Please add an URGENT NOTIFICATION to the TOP of Versa/Ionic and support pages. You did this with the watch face/apps error a few weeks ago. Vague statements like "10%" and "in a few weeks" set unrealistic expectations. Versa users are early adopters - potentially biggest promoters, but also most likely to bash the product. It's OK to tell us you're working on a problem. Early adopters know new tech is rarely perfect. But we also hate being kept in the dark or being forced to troubleshoot something that isn't a user problem. Try something like this: "Tracker Software Update [version] is available to [whatever current % is] as of [Date]." Please use the trouble shooting solutions for the most common errors below. If these do not work, please be patient (we're going as fast as we can) and try again in 24 hours. After extensive testing and analysis, Fitbit engineers and experts determined that it was in the best interest of you - our [x million] users -  to minimize potential widespread disruption of one massive update with a staggered roll-out of the exciting features. We're confident you'll find the Ionic/Versa experience will keep getting better. Live Your Best Life with #FitbitVersa and #FitbitIonic.

Using message+? That Verizon app is having problems for all users with the latest firmware update. Someone posted a workaround by using Fitbit Notifications app in the Play Store.

DCMom2 needs to be given a job (well paying) in the FITBit customer relations department. Can we at least have separate sections of community support for Android users vs OS users?

I do have the "messages" chosen and not the "messages +"... I'm still having issues. I wish that was the problem.

Do me a favor and try Textra. Free in the Play Store. That's what I use without issues. Once setup, go to Textra settings - customize notifications - define notification actions - android heads up buttons. Choose button 1 as mark as read and button 2 as android in-line reply.Screenshot_20180518-192835.jpg

So I just now saw this option in the notification payp in the app under vibrate, I selected it to always vibrate even if the phone is on silent mode, etc. And a text just can't though on my versw! It's not with the message+ but the regular message on my Android

Okay, I did receive a text but I only have the option to "clear" just like the rest of my notifications. "Clear" is the only thing that comes up for my regular email accounts and text etc. My Gmail account has "Clear" and "Delete" but no reply etc.

Hi

I've read in a seperate topic that updating to someone who had updated to 32.32.1.20 no longer had the issue of the heart rate monitor not working on tattooed wrists.

Both of mine are full of ink, and the versa only detects my heart rate some of the times.

Therefor I'm hoping an update to his .20 firmware would resolve this as well, otherwise there's no point in me keeping this device...

Seems like the update broke the Text Message notification functionality from Android devices. Any update on when that may be fixed? (I need to return my watch soon if that functionality isn't fixed!)

Textra messaging app (solution listed above) seems to work - don't want to jinx it though!

I swear this forum is one of the most useless tech support forums on the internet (including Yahoo Answers): A thousand people asking a thousand questions, with a handful of Fitbit employees just posting the exact same "solutions" over and over and almost never directly addressing anyone's specific problems.

"Sleep Stages doesn't work for you? Remember you have to sleep for over 3 hours. Also, don't manually log your sleep, it will happen automatically." Yes... We all know. We've all read the support page link you posted. A million times.

In case a human Fitbit rep may be reading this without the intention of just tiring me out so I get frustrated and go away, I'll mention again: Since the Versa firmware update, I no longer receive notifications from certain apps, even if they are *definitely* activated in the Notifications settings. The encrypted texting app Signal, specifically, was sending notifications before the update, but is not now. Other apps *are* sending notifications correctly.

Do you know when will the fix for the Message + app be fixed so we can get text notifications on the Versa?

Best Answer

This update seems to break receiving messages on the Versa .I've noted multiple reports, as well as one firsthand from a family member. The breadth of complaints suggests testing is not thorough enough. Majors problems like this can quickly kill an otherwise great product. Fitbit you need to seriously up your game.

Suggest you remain on that release until a fix for 32.32.10.15, as that release breaks receiving messages on the Versa.

I believe 32.10.20 is the fix.  Strange they aren’t pushing that out to everybody ASAP.

Best Answer
Yea, no kidding. I wish they would hurry up and solve the issues. I love my Versa but they shouldn't have provided an update that promised certain changes with out delivering what they promised.
Best Answer

It seems like the people promising what’s supposed to be fixed aren’t talking to the people doing the update.
