Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Hi all! Great to see that so many of you have been able to update successfully.
@Krissyton @SunsetRunner To see the updates we made to "Fitbit Today" on the watch, try the following:
@MarciW @Fares94 If you are having any issues receiving notifications, I recommend performing each of the steps detailed in this article.
@SunsetRunner @Ryan79 @Ladyash I would recommend performing a restart to refresh your watches system.
@MarkMM @Rob27 @JusssMeee @Dpumpkin Our team is currently looking into similar issues with the water logging feature. A potential workaround is to simply force quit the app after you sync.
@UCGFM @SunsetRunner @mcmarfia Sorry to hear about your experience. I have reached out to our support team to have a case created for you. They will be in touch via email.
Thanks for all the feedback related to this release, everyone. Hope you have a great holiday!

Good evening.
Please note that this update didn't work in my Versa.
When trying to do the update it was said that app was not connected to my Versa anymore and neither to my Wifi. I realised that nothing was happening. The app frozen trying to connect and I had to reboot the app and the Versa in order to have the Versa connected to my. App again. So far everything is being setting up again. Let's see what happens !

I'm not sure if this has been reported yet, but I've noticed a significant delay on the wake time of the watch face. When I tilt my wrist or hit a button to wake up the screen, I have immediately see the display "turn on", but will stay black for 2-3 seconds before showing my watch face. This is deal-breaking for me. It's a watch first, if it can't show me the time instantly, it is useless for me.
I've already tried doing a factory reset, but I will be trying another one shortly, as after my factory reset, the watch locked up at the WiFi setup, and had to be hard-reset. It eventually finished, but now every so often the fitbit app says it can't connect to the watch.
I'm using the third-party clock face "Thexa", if that makes any difference.

So here is the deal. I charged the versa about 3 days ago (Thursday night). By Friday afternoon I had lost about 25% of it. On Saturday is when I did the update so I put it to charge while that happened. Battery went up to 84%, then went jogging (used bluetooth headphones). By the night time yesterday my battery was about 60%. This morning the battery was at 41%. Went jogging again this morning again using the bluetooth headphones and the battery went down to about 30%. That was at about 10am. By 1pm my battery was at 22% and that is went I was prompted it to recharge it. so aboutb3 days and a bit more depending on usage? I have to assume that the 4 day mark is without using its features just letting the versa sit on your wrist? Also I put it to charge and within 1 hour it went up to 99% and stayedbthere for the next 15 minutes until it finally reached 100%. I am wearing it now and see how it fares until tomorrow when I will go jogging again. Regards

that is about right for the charge
i charge mine when it hits 25% which is about 3 days into the charge.. but in reality i dont have to charge it until the following day as it uses about 25% a day..
now on the good news.. since this update.. my watch was 100% and it has been 46 hours now and my watch is at 65% so using less power

“If you open "Today" and scroll to the "Settings" at the bottom of the screen. The options for the 7 stats are in there.”
Mine shows 3. Re synced with the app. Still 3. Shut down the watch and restarted. Still 3.
I’m really glad I only paid $90 for this thing or I would be really mad over how buggy it is.

@MattFitbit I have tried connecting to WiFi in the app and having my Versa on the charger on 2 different occasions. I have a full charge now, do I let it sit indefinitely, because I still only have 4 options in the today app?

I had this same issue with the Thexa clock. I've tried other clocks and don't have the issue, it seems to be Thexa only, which is a bummer. Are there any other clocks that show barometric pressure?

Last update on thexa is showing as Dec 14, not sure how this lines up with the fitbit update. I did provide some feedback via the fitbit app, hopefully they see it. Might not hurt to have multiple reports.

soooo if I upgrade my firmware and everything breaks (since that is what happens everytime I updated my android app) is there a way to install the old firmware? I saw at least one person post that 2.84 still had screwed up GPS connection issues so I am loathe to update my app and even more loathe to update firmware if I can't undo it...

As per my 2nd post, I've been attempting to do a factory reset because the basics like restarting it hasn't helped.
As part of the attempts to do a factory reset, the Versa restarts so it's been restarted about 10 times now since the buttons don't seem to do a factory reset anymore.

@fueledbycoffee if you update the firmware, you're stuck with the new one. No way to roll back firmwares.

@Ryan79 The button way to to a factory reset is a lie. Just do it from the settings app.

@meresydotes if my Versa was responding to screen input, I would.
The whole reason I am wanting to do a factory reset is because I can't use the screen.

@Ryan79 Oh, that sucks! Does fitbit have phone support in your area? If so, I recommend calling and yelling for a while.
