Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Are you using a stock fitbit clock face? I found they are the best for battery life especially since the devs made the others before the update. I'm using layers and battery life is good

@BevMiller@Kylep87I have the battery drain issue, and I've tried 2 different Fitbit clock faces (Layers and Simple). Neither has helped in my case. There must be something else wrong with this update for some of us. I've tried disabling essentially everything with no 3rd party stuff, but my battery still only lasts ~7-8 hours tops. Used to get 4-5 days...

Just to let you know, after disabling all smart features that makes Versa a smart watch (notifications, heart rate sensor, and so on) and switching to a Fitbit clockface, battery still lasts no longer than 4hrs. Fitbit is offering me a complimentary replacement.
All of that due to a firmware update, craziness...

I also got a replacement watch offered. Mine was the same as yours, it dies in 4 hours. I was suprised but mine arrived in the mail today. I had contacted them the day after the update was released. The new one seems to be working just fine but I haven’t checked out all the functions other than the new one holds a charge!

Reconnecting the watch to WiFi finally made the today update finally work.
My god this thing is high maintenance

Great for you @Susie2057
Hope everything will work fine with your new one. Should receive mine in about 5 to 7 business days. Has to cross the pond first 😉

I’m going to have to ask for a replacement. Mine hasn’t been quite as bad as dying in 4 hours. But I fully charged mine this morning and went to the layers clock face but at 4pm I’m already below 40%.... I bought the Versa over an Apple Watch because of the 4-5 day battery life.

Hey ,not a single call or message notification through since this. I have latest updated app, and firmware update was successful. I have tried restarting my watch, and also turning notifications off and on again. The test call works fine, but actual call or text notifications not at all

Yup, I put the watch on the charger and let it sync with the mobile apps for hours and still, I only got 3 categories on today app. It was updated with the new today app interface tough, not sure what when wrong.

The update took nearly 20hrd to install on my device and I fully charged it last night and tonight it is dead. How can I fix this?!

Since this update my Versa went from 4-5 days battery life to only lasting me a day (even with changing the clock face and barely using it). Hopefully the firmware problem can be resolved otherwise I might be wanting a replacement myself.

So I charged my Versa on12/23 late at night. Went Jogging on 12/24. By the endnof the day my batyery was at 61%. So if this is the trend, my battery will last a bit over 2 days. Still far from the 4 days that made me choose this device. Using the a bluetooth headphone for about 40 minutes will use up about 15% of the battery. So I will go jogging now and myvbaytwry is at 59%. Meaning that I should end up with 44%. And calculating another 10% of usage by the end of the day then by tomorrow I should have about 30% left. This means that I may havebto chsrge overnight tonight if I am going to use the Versa tomorrow for another run. So yes about 2+ days of battery life after the update.

I feel like since I've updated my versa, my battery has been draining super quickly. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Burning else has changed in my usage.

Yea I agree. I hope the firmware can be fixed! I charged my versa fully before bed. Clock face is “Layers”. But when I woke up my watch was dead.
