Fitbit Update 1/10/19:
Hi all!
Big thanks to everyone for your feedback on the release of Fitbit OS 3.0!
Since the majority of users have now updated to 3.0, I will be closing this thread from further comments to help keep our Community discussions on-topic.
If you are experiencing an issue outside of the firmware update process, I invite you to start a new thread on this forum and we will be happy to assist you there.
Thanks again and happy stepping!
Fitbit Update 12/26:
Hey, everyone! We're aware that some of you may have noticed a fast battery drain on your Versa watches after completing this firmware update. Our team is investigating the root cause of this issue and whether it was caused by this update or other factors are involved.
In the meantime, if you're experiencing this problem please try a restart on the device then consider switching to a Fitbit made clock face! Many 3rd party clockfaces (especially those with animations) are known to use up more battery. If you try this out and are still seeing a fast battery drain, we can connect you with Customer Support for next steps or you can reach out to them and create a case.
We look forward to getting you all back on track!
Fitbit Update 12/22:
We've released Fitbit OS 3.0 out to 100% of users. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app (2.84) before downloading the newest firmware.
We're excited for you all to have the newest Fitbit OS, but please let us know if you have any questions about this update. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Hi, everyone!
I am excited to announce the release of Fitbit OS 3.0! (Firmware Version: 32.33.1.30)
We've started to roll out this update and it's currently out to 20% of Versa users. This is a progressive rollout, and all Versa users can expect to have it soon. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
WHAT'S CHANGED?
Please check out this help article to see what's new in this update.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa can be found here. We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into trouble updating your Versa, please follow these steps:
*If anyone isn't seeing the TODAY app after updating, please try the following:
1. Make sure you're running the newest version of the Fitbit app (version 2.84)
2. Connect to Wi-Fi in the Fitbit app, plug your Versa into the charger and let it sit. This will automatically update the Today app.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have questions, please let me know in this thread!

Both my daughter's and I Fittbits are stating there is an update and we try to update but the update is not going through. It keeps giving us an X on the watch screen. We are new to Fitbit just a week and we do not know what else to do. We have tried to reset, resend and reinstall but nothing seems to work. In addition we can't even us the my clocks changing faces app. Please help!

I got offered the update yesterday, but couldn't update due to my Versa having a low battery of 20-30%
But I wasn't able to update. So, I rebooted my phone, and as Google Files told me the phone's storage is low, offered me to clear files (didn't say which), so I cleared it.
When I came back to the Fitbit app, the update is not available any more!
So, this is really a push update? Only 1 push for each tracker? Is that why the update isn't available anymore?

Update went smoothly, I have added the water to my watch. But I don't have the plus sign next the water glass to add more via the watch it'self. only can swipe to see the weekly view. i have restarted the watch and re-synced with my phone.

My Versa update fails halfway through. Is this update available for me? My app says an update is available. I have restarted, reinstalled, checked connections and still failing. Thanks

@Dougo13 -
There is a red banner at the top of the page that reads:
"We’re aware of an issue affecting Ionic/Versa customers from completing their firmware update and are working to fix it."

@chuacw -- have you checked the currently installed version number (it says on the Versa page on your mobile app, top left corner) as well on the Versa under settings > about. Maybe you got the new version without you realizing it?

Well, I tried all the steps by resetting my Versa including removing it from the app and removing it from my phone. No joy. It had trouble downloading it via WiFi and Bluetooth. I did notice the pink notification on top, so hopefully Fitbit will resolve it.

Hi, ever since I updated my Fitbit, I've been seeing this poor watch constantly restart itself, and it would also "crash" and reboot if I swipe to see the "today" app.
Formatted, and reinstalled my watch multiple times, only to see the restarts happen less often, but still seeing them happen. I'm able to swipe to see the "today" app, but its still occasionally rebooting itself for no reason.
Is there a fix? 😞
My particular FitBit was from Khol's and has the Ruby wristband...Not looking to give up the best color band ever created.

I purchased the Versa today but if I can’t get it to update the firmware by tomorrow then I will be returning it.
I’m sure the WiFi signal probably isn’t strong enough but as I have no control over that I tried the Bluetooth and still no luck.
I was excited to get the versa but think that if its this much trouble to simply set up for initial use what’s the point.
Sure they’re aware of the problem but what are they doing to fix it? Not happy with this purchase so far.

Hi, please be patient, The newest version of the Firmware is rolled out gradually. Wait intill you see in your Fitbit app that a new release is avalaible for your Versa. Probably this will not take a very long while. I also do not have the latest update, whilst having the Versa already for months.

Only 50% of users have the update, and even in that number some are having issues. I'd just wait and be patient, you'll get the update.

After updating my versa goes from a full charge to 0% in 4 hours or less. I've already charged my versa 3 times today.

Luckily I've had mine less than a year so they offered to replace it free of charge. Mine is horrible after the update.

Be glad you didn't update. My tracker dies in less than 4 hours. Goes from 100% to 0% in 4 hours or less.

The OP was not talking about update. The new versas activated today do not work out of the box. It simply says downloading update. None of the watch functions available. Very bad first impression after a new purchase.

I have tried countless times to get my watch to update and it won't. I've done everything single thing it said to do if it won't update. I've restarted both devices, wifi and Bluetooth. Removed device from app. Nothing works! All I get is the big fat X on my screen telling me no sorry can't do that!

Which clockface are you using? See if the problem disappears if you switch to one of the fitbit-clockfaces. There may be compatibility issues between some clockfaces compiled for OS1.x and OS3.0
