Hello! Recently, I received a Fitbit Versa 2 smart watch, with Alexa inbuilt.
I have read that the Fitbit Versa 2 is water resistant, which means I can swim in it and wear it in the shower. I just wanted to double check that this is true, as the Fitbit Versa 2 has an inbuilt microphone for Alexa and other voice features. Also, if this is true that the Versa 2 is waterproof, then is there anything special I have to do before swimming/showering with it, such as the Apple Watch?
Have a good day, and thanks in advance!

It's true! The Versa 2 is very water resistant. Fitbit say it is: "Swimproof in a lake, pool, or ocean (up to 50 meters)" (see: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1598/ )
There's nothing to be done beforehand but note this comment in the care guidelines:
"Fitbit products are made to be water resistant. Fitbit Ace 2, Charge 3, Flex 2, Ionic, Inspire family and Versa family can be worn in the lake, the pool or the ocean, and Fitbit Ace can be worn in the shower. Still, it’s important to thoroughly dry your device and elastomer band and remove any debris after wear in the water to avoid skin irritation. Please note that non-elastomer accessories should not be worn in water."

Thanks @SteveH! But what about Alexa? Isn’t there a hole in the side for a microphone? Wouldn’t water get inside?
And also- I may be swimming with it in the ocean soon- will the salt water affect the watch??

It seems the microphone has been designed to cater for water. In the event that Alexa has problems understanding you, Fitbit say:
"If you recently went swimming or got Versa 2 wet, there might be water in the microphone. Wait a few minutes for the microphone to dry, then try again to use Alexa."
From: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2009.htm
And as for salt water then they do say it's wearable in the ocean but the care guidelines also say:
"If your elastomer band gets wet—like after sweating or showering—rinse and dry it thoroughly before putting it back on your wrist."

So, no need to worry about Alexa and if you can rinse it after swimming in the ocean then it's worth doing. If not, then taking it off when in the ocean might be an option - it's not as though it's going to track many steps.
