Hi There!
My versa loses connection with my phone (nexus 5x) during bike excercise and thus shows no route on the map. I know I have gps, because Strava app shows it right.
Is this a bug in the software from the Versa?
I tried to start an excercise from fitbit app, but only walk, run or hike does gps. (no bike. why not?!?) so i choose hike. now i have a hike excercise with hr and ps data. this this excercise shows after sync with strava in strava as hike. in strava i change hike in bike.
now i have bike excercise in strava with hr and gps. after a while just from magic, the ecercise in strava has been changed back into hike again with no hr data anymore.
I know that fitbit versa is not a swiss watch, but at least it should be working as advertised!
connected gps is not not working. People at Fitbit, can you fix this?

OK, but there's no "Notification Widget" there, only whether to receive notifications while exercising or during Do not Disturb time.

i have try all solutions what here have been. best solution is not use versa with running but then i dont see mean to own it.
it seems to me after many things try that versa does not hold bluetooth connection up with not compable phone like oneplus 6 or huawei p10 lite.

I'm using a MOTO Z2 Play and I have not been able to find a notification widget on either the phone app or the watch. On the phone there is a Keep-Alive widget. Is that the same thing?
I'm trying all solutions to see if I can get full functionality back but after trying all the other fixes to no avail, turning off the WiFi has worked for me. I realize it's not a long term solution for a lot of people. But it's worked flawlessly for 4 runs in a row when I had the WiFi turned off. Something it hadn't done for over a month with all the other fixes I tried.
Warmest regards,
Mike Marvin

I believe this issue is very Versa-specific.
My setup:
"Connected GPS" works perfectly with my Charge 2 and never works with Versa.
My Charge 2 is able to record the track regardless of whether I have WiFi on or off, I do listen to the music over the bluetooth headphones at the same time and I do run fitbit in the background.
Charge 2 == works.
Versa == BROKEN.
Please provide fix ETA or something.
I am not sure I can keep the device and hope for a fix. I'd rather have it safely returned for a refund while it looks mint if we have no idea when it's going to be fixed.
Main purpose of buying this device for me was reco

Finally fitbit confirmed that it's a bug. And trying to fix it . Fitbit has no exact date to fix this issue and also no commitment to resolve it .just informed that they may or may not come up with a solution. Now thinking what to do with the watch with out this FIX . 🤔

Hey @Srikanta!
Would you please share where this information comes from?
I still cannot find this bug acknowledgment by Fitbit on these forums.

I'm just glad I got rid of it.
Cannot say I am glad as well, but I also had returned this thing in the end.
Somehow other brands do sync reliably, do maintain beta/prod lines of releases with ability to participate in either, and most importantly things "just work".
I still do wish all the luck to fitbit customers and wish all the courage and patience required to make good bug-free software to their developers.
Come on, fitbit, you should be able to fix this one! Show us that you can!

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the feedback provided about the issues you have been experiencing with the GPS connected feature.
If you haven't checked our list of compatible mobile devices, I recommend taking a look at it and see if your phones are listed. I also suggest following the instructions provide in the help article Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?.
See you later.

I can confirm that I was not able to connect to GPS with my android phone and Fitbit version 2.78. I will wait for a week more before returning my Versa back. My charge 2 is far better.

I can confirm that Android Fitbit app ver 2.78 update was not a fix for the "Connected GPS problem".
I've been searching and lurking sites for a fix. The Versa was an early June 2018 Father's Day present from my kids and it was a cool watch for a while, also notifying me when emails or texts came through. Recently, with cooler weather, I explored the fitness utilities in more depth.
Step counter: Last month I spoke with Fitbit because my Versa would intermittently record thousands of steps while on the charger overnight. They sent a new one a few weeks ago. Still a problem but I abandoned counting steps. I'm a biker, not a walker.
Bike tracker: On open road in the city, with the phone one foot from the Versa, it continuously loses connection ("connecting" displays across the top) and fails to log mileage. No better on the mountain bike in the woods. I have a supported phone (Moto E4) and android OS (7.1.1), so this is not only a problem with Marshmallow. I have firmware 32.32.10.15 on the Versa. Options for "Always Connected" and "Keep-Alive Widget" are both on. I have tried it with WiFi on vs off, with the phone location service set to GPS only vs high accuracy mode, opening and leaving active the Fitbit app on the phone, turning All-Day Sync off and on, tried it before and after deleting all other blue tooth devices from the phone, after rebooting the phone AND watch just before a bike ride...all to no avail. Today my 17+mile loop registered as 5.9 miles at an avg of 5.2 mph. On June 22 that loop registered at 16 mi and 14.4 mph, the closest to accurate that I can find by scrolling back through the app.
Anything I haven't tried? I may rollback the Fitbit app if I can figure out how. My recollection is that Connected GPS was more reliable when I first tried it walking around the neighborhood in July just after it was purchased, but too little data to be sure.

Nah, doesn't work with my (unsupported) OnePlus 6 or with my supported Nexus 5X. I tried the Nexus without turning off wifi before my ride; I'll try that tomorrow, but I don't hold out much hope.
