I have been experiencing heart rates on my Fitbit Versa all day that are very high as if I am doing intense exercise. Heart rate ranges from 130 to 170 or higher even while at rest. I have reset it several times. It will be fine for a few minutes and then the heart rate will start to climb again. I am wearing it the same as I always do, but this is the first time I have experienced this issue. I have contacted customer support and did not get much help other than they will look into the issue. I know my heart rate is not this high because I have taken my pulse rate myself and it is in a normal range even though the Versa says otherwise. I would like to know if others have experienced this and if it has been resolved. This problem makes th Fitbit Versa relatively useless for anything other than a step counter.

>> I'm having the same issue - resting heart rate is higher than normal for past 3 days.
Ahh, resting HR, that is something VERY different that the instantaneous HR. Many ppl have issues with the HR when exercising. Obviously if you RHR jumped from say 50bpm to 100bpm, that is not normal. When your HR say below 100bpm is ok (which it normally will be +/- a few bpm; you can easily check by hand), then be aware that the RHR is calculated based on some averages throughout the day. I would say that "you don't have the same issue" as the OP, and suggest you provide some figures of what your RHR was/should be, vs what it says now.
>> I'm still on firmware 32.10.15 because no matter what I do, I cannot get the update option to appear - so frustrating.
Have you removed your watch from the App, removed it from bluetooth, and then did a hard factory reset, started from scratch? Somewhere half-way the process after the wifi-connection is established it should download the latest firmware. Please let the community know exactly why it doesn't work for you 🙂 I'll permit to add a little joke : no wonder your RHR has shot through the roof 😉 😉

Hello everyone. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Resting Heart rate. @lenny4d post do help a lot as it shows the difference between the Resting heart rate and normal heart rate readings. Still make sure you are wearing your Versa all day (specially at night) so it has all your heart rate information and clean the back of it with cotton and rubbing alcohol. Finally check this article to improve the heart rate reading and restart your Versa. Allow a few days of data to be uploaded to your account to see how it updates.
Let me know how it goes!

So apparently Fitbit's customer support has tanked. They no longer are addressing the HR issue with the VERSA even though its a known issue for several months. The answer I got was great we will let our engineer know and check back at the forums to see if there is a solution. TIME TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER COMPANY
