Fitbit Versa running without phone

I bought the Fitbit strava to enable me to run and race without my phone. I usually run with my phone using the strava app. 

I have set set up my Fitbit to sync to strava. However, it won’t work sync an activity to my strava when I run with just the watch. Do I have to take my phone with me for gps? If I have my phone with me, I can just use the strava app directly!

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern about syncing your activities to Strava. I would like to confirm that the exercises recorded with the Fitbit app or don’t have GPS data are not synced to Strava. Only GPS data recorded with a device will be synced to Strava. Since Fitbit Versa has connected GPS, it uses the sensors on your nearby phone to capture GPS data. I understand how you are feeling and appreciate your feedback. Our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome.

I am glad to assist you with your concern about listening to music on Spotify with your Versa without taking your phone. The Spotify app on your Fitbit device doesn’t support offline music playback, so your paired phone must remain nearby with the Fitbit app running in the background and connected to the internet.
