I see my Versa records steps while I bike. How does it do that - what is it recording? I can easily tell it is not counting revolutions of my feet as it seems to record about 400 steps per mile so I am curious about what it is recording. I also notice it does not record steps on a stationary bike. A friend has a Versa and she ties it into her shoe laces for better recording. Does that make sense?

@BCStau Welcome! It's good that the community is growing!
Let me help you with your steps counted while riding your bike. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen when driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. In this case I don't think it will be necessary to log a driving activity as your bike ride is being recorded. Still exercise detection helps with better calculating your caloric burn so these steps shouldn't affect this calculation.
Let me know how it goes.
