Fitbit Versa will not charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My fitbit versa died about 3 weeks ago and would not charge at all.  The screen lit up when I put it in the charging doc but then died again. I purchased a new charger in the hopes that that was the problem, but I am still having a problem with it not charging.  I have managed to set the factory settings and unpair the device from my phone but it still doesn't seem to be charging. It has been on charge for almost 12 hours now and is still at 0% charge but the screen is on.  I am in South Africa do you have a service provider here that I could send the watch to for repairs?

Hi @Lindsaydcpt, welcome to our Fitbit Community! Regarding the charging issues that your Fitbit Versa has experienced, I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved.

In order to avoid providing the same information, please let me know how the factory reset was performed. In the meantime, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article contains steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

In regards to your question, I'm afraid that we don't have a repair center. However, please try the steps shared above and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted.

Hi
Thank you for your response.
I have been trying to find someone in south africa to have a look at the
watch with no luck.
The factory reset was done via the app as the watch only has power when in
the charging dock, which means I cannot press any of the buttons. The watch
syncs to my phone while in the charging doc, but is useless once removed.
Please find attached the video for clarification.
I really hope Fitbit will be able to correct this fault as this item is not
cheap to replace and I am very disappointed to see that there are a number
of people struggling with the same problem and in south africa we have no
service centre to take the watch to which means there is no after sale
service. My daughter was looking at purchasing a fitbit for herself but is
now re-considering this due to my experience.

I look forward to your positive response .
