Fitbit Versa won't hold any type of charge

About a week ago, I noticed that my fitbit died on me when it shouldn't have. I've only had this watch since Christmas and prior to this, have had zero issues. Now, it will only power on when charging. The second I take it out of the charger, it goes black and acts like it's dead!

But as I put it back in, the watch tells me the battery is at 100%. In the last week, I've done two factory resets, restarted countless times, tried charging from different sources, but nothing helps. I can't hold down the buttons to try and restart the watch that way because the watch has to stay plugged in.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused this was that I installed a third party clock face about 30 mins before the problems started. I had used the Layers clock face since I received the watch. So it can't be a coincidence that as I install a new clock, this happens? Or is that crazy?

Hi, nope that's not crazy. Third Party Clock Faces can cause a lot of problems. Put your Versa in the Charger, go to the Fitbit app on your Phone and to Clock Faces and install one developed by Fitbit itself, except Bitmoji. Let your Versa in the charger for a while, take it out and restart your Versa. If the TPCF has caused this problem, it should be solved by returning to the old Clock Face.

Hi Kuzibri. Thanks for responding. But yes, I've tried going back to the Layers clock face, but nothing changed. I've tried restarting in the original clock face and tried a reset in it as well, but it still won't last outside of its charger.

That makes me think that it must not have been the watch face that caused it. But I really don't know what else it could be, and don't know what else to try at this point.

@AechTMS Thank you for getting back and trying the troubleshooting steps that recommended @SunsetRunner!

I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful. Please clean the contacts of your charger and Versa with a cotton swab in order to remove any dust that the contact may accumulate. After this, charge your tracker for 2-3 hours and see if it stays on after unplugging it from the charger.

Keep us posted on the outcome! 😀

It's okay JuanJo! I've contacted costumer service and they've deemed that I need a replacement and have already sent one. Thank you for trying to help though!
