Fitbit Versa won’t sync sleep

Hi!

This is is my first time posting on here. I just bought a Fitbit Versa a few weeks ago and it was working well, but now I can’t get it to sync my sleep. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not. I have not restarted it yet because most days it does count my sleep, but some days (like today) it does not or only says I slept for an hour when I slept about six or seven hours. Any suggestions?

@Nanners11 it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's not tracking and syncing your sleep properly.

Since you mentioned that you haven't tried the restart process yet, please do so as described in this help article. This process refreshes your watch internally and is helpful for this type of issues.

After this, make sure that your device is positioned correctly on your wrist. Also, tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist while sleeping. After this, go to your profile settings and change the sleep sensitivity from "Normal" to "Sensitive". Finally, monitor your sleep and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

I changed the slew pattern to sensitive, as a friend of mine said that worked better for her. Also, I just restarted it today. I will keep you updated on how it works from here on out. I tightened the band last night so it wouldn’t move, but it only gave me the basic sleep statuses instead of the stages. Tonight I think I will still tighten it so it doesn’t slip down, but I’ll see if it does better since I restarted. I haven’t had any other problems with it, though I haven’t cleaned the back since I got it. Hopefully this works!

Alright. It has been three days since I restarted it. I had good luck the first couple of days, just tightening it up at night. But last night when I went to bed I tightened it and it didn’t calculate my sleep until I entered it manually in the morning on the app. It still hasn’t synced that data to my actual device. I will continue to try and do the same things I’ve been doing, but are there other solutions out there? I have cleaned the band with Cetaphil and also cleaned the device in the way it says to clean it. Thanks so much in advance.

Okay, last night I cinched up the Versa and it tracked my sleep just fine. It also synced quickly with my app. Hoping this continues after the recharge today.

Last night I had the Fitbit tight on my wrist and it didn’t record my sleep at all. I know I slept for at least 6-7 hours. I don’t want to have to add my hours manually every time this happens.

No sleep data for today even though I slept from 1:00 am to 7:10 am. I decided not to add the times since one time it added them after I had already done so.No sleep data for today even though I slept from 1:00 am to 7:10 am. Hi,

My Fitbit has not tracked my sleep for the last two nights. I did all the things you suggested and even cleaned it properly. I cleaned the bands with Cetaphil. Could it be because the bands are on opposite sides that I am having trouble? I have been cinching up the watch every night before bed. It just simply isn’t tracking sleep.

Please help, as I have tried all the other suggestions.

Last night I finally got it to track my sleep again. I had the app open when I fell asleep and maybe that helped? I wore the band tight on my wrist as suggested, but the one thing I would say is, though it did track my sleep, it said I went to bed an hour later than I actually did. I had to adjust that. I also adjusted the last two days where it didn’t track any sleep and it said that one day I couldn’t have advanced sleep stats. The next day that I added my sleep log, I had advanced stats. I don’t use my Fitbit for music or for much else than sleeping or exercising, so it’s kind of frustrating that I can’t get it to work consistently on this. I have no other problems with it really.
