Fitbit Versa won't turn on

One week ago my versa just randomly died and wouldn’t turn back on, or charge at all. I tried all the troubleshooting and still it would not work. I called customer service and the representative determined that my device was in fact defective. Since it was only purchased 6 months ago and I still have the receipt she told me they were sending an email to request a replacement or receive 50% off a new device. Then, she told me to throw away only the tracker but to keep the band. I went through the steps to request a replacement and received an email that my order was placed. Now I get an email today saying that my order has been canceled with no explanation, so I called again to figure out why. They told me that the reason it was canceled is because they need me to send the old tracker in a prepaid envelope that they are sending to me! Why was I not told this in the first place!?! I was told to THROW AWAY the tracker!!! I asked to speak to a supervisor (who actually sounded like the same lady I was already talking to) and they still won’t budge on just sending me a new tracker unless I send the old one. What a rip-off of a company who won’t even right their mistake after giving a customer bad information. Not only that, but this a $200 device that completely went defective after only 6 months! This is not the first time that a Fitbit device that either my husband or I have owned has done this either. When my husband’s Blaze died after less than a year we had no problem getting a replacement and never even had to call them. Everything was handled through email and never had to send them the defective device. Also, the Ionic that my husband currently owns has completely died, just like my Versa, both in the same week!!! It seems very fishy that both of our devices stopped working within days of each other. What a freakin scam that these devices won’t even last one year before going defective!!! Fitbit needs to take responsibility for their mistake of telling me to throw away my defective device and just send me my new one!! They say they record the calls, so they can go back and listen to their representative telling me to throw it away. It’s not like this was a cheap purchase, this is $200 of hard earned money!

Thank you for your response and for opening my case again, however, it hasn’t done any good. Fitbit continues to deny that anyone would tell me to throw away my tracker, when the truth is, she did. I do not accept this as a solution even though it appears to you that I did. I accidentally clicked that box when I was actually trying to uncheck it.  I will also be responding directly to the email that was sent to me.

My versa is doing the exact same thing and is also less than 6 months old. Very frustrating!!!
