The people who work there are obviously clock-watchers who bail out of the building at 5pm every day, pretending their day's work is done.
The fact that there's so many complaints already for a brand new product is very telling. Congratulations Fitbit.

I just received the Versa 2. I was so excited for it to arrive, and was eager for the unboxing experience. I turn it on, and it says, "Download the Fitbit app" in every language. Ok, I go do that. To my chagrin, I've learned that I must already own a mobile device that runs a certain OS, just to get the Versa2 up and running. Nowhere on the box does it say that this is an absolute requirement. All it says is it's "Android and iPhone compatible". Great, I sure wish I had known that before I purchased it.
All you guys had to do was spend a little more time and use a little more ink to print this rather pertinent information on the box. That's all you guys had to do.

Thank you Fitbit, for providing me with a perfect example of horrible user-experience and customer-satisfaction. Never in my life have I had to return an electronic product, because it was so horribly designed.
I work as a UX designer, in software, and Fitbit provided a perfect case study for me and my fellow UX designers to avoid at all costs.
With the Versa 2 line, I think competitor smart-watch companies have nothing to fear.

Your post helps no one. You fail to state what you think is wrong. I have a Versa 1 and I think Fitbit doesn't care if their apps work. Specifically, Uber. Also, I think it was a mistake to remove two of the three buttons on the Versa 2. I use those buttons for super quick shortcuts to Calendar and Weather apps. One poster complained that the grey body of the Versa 2 had a purple tint. What, specifically, bothers you?

Nowhere on the packaging of the Versa 2 does it mention that you MUST already own a newer mobile device, running the latest OS version, JUST to get the Versa 2 up and running. That seems like rather pertinent information, for a first-time user/customer of Fitbit products.
All they simply had to do was say, "Modern mobile devices running the latest OS is REQUIRED to successfully set up this product and use it." That's all they had to do, and I would've moved on with my life.
But no, so I call tech-support, and they tell me to use the Windows 10 Fitbit app on my desktop computer to set it up, and that could work... Nope!

Yes, it's just the latest version of Fitbit self-abuse, as it works to remove any sense that their products will "work with computers" -- no, if you want to set up the Versa 2, you must have an Apple or Android phone or tablet. Just like how more and more "features" of the Fitbit devices will not appear on the web-based "Fitbit dashboard" -- no, Fitbit apparently will not spend the time and effort to continue developing such a universally-available platform such as "a web browser." Why, indeed, bother looking at your statistics on a nice, large screen, when you can use a teensy tiny little phone screen, instead?
I understand that Fitbit has not been in a very good financial situation. Stuff like this will not help.
