Fitbit wouldnt sync, Had to do a factory reset, all aps gone, unable to install apps

My fitbit versa wouldnt sync for months. I did a factory reset on the fitbit via settings. Ive just uninstalled the app and reinstalled, charged it up, finally managed to connect the fitbit to the app (3 hours later!)  but now its showing the apps page blank, it wont let me download any apps it just says "this app can not be installed on your device". Same for clock faces even fitbit aps.

The fitbit itself wont do anything other than the logo and scrolling through languages telling me to install the app. 

I tried to reset via holding all buttens down etc but the X never came back just returned to the logo screen. 

Also noticed the green lasers at the back havent been on

 

Please help, this is so frustrating

@Jungle_katie Welcome to the forum. From your description of versa screen it seems it is not connected/set up. Please do the following:

 

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app.
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Plug Versa into charging dock
  7. Set up Versa again by adding device in the Fitbit mobile app
  8. Download firmware update and grant all permissions Fitbit requests
  9. Install apps and clockfaces and sync.

Hi, see this guide how to update your Versa to the latest Firmware Version, cause that will be the case after a Factory Reset and follow the suggestions made in this guide to the letter: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Versa-Versa-Lite/Hassle-free-guide-to-update-your-Versa-s-firmware/t.... Nothing is working for me. I tried all steps. Tonight while sitting at dinner my versa started LOSING steps. Went down to 90 but if you look at today it shows several thousand...it will not connect to my phone for incoming calls & tells me my phone Bluetooth is off (it's not & versa shows paired). The app wont synch and I am truly.beginning to think I just wasted a lot of money on this watch.

 

Suggestions on how to make it work would be greatly appreciated!

OMG, ok its working now. I unpaired and uninstalled everything, reset my phone, reset the fitbit, reinstalled the app then connected it. For the first time it actually installed and now i can see the apps and its working. I didnt have to manually update the firmware thing.

The only thing i did differently than what i did last night to fix was unpair the bluetooth and restart my phone

Hi, did you, after the Factory Reset, setup your device all over again with your phone, cause that's the result of a Factory Reset. If yes, I would suggest to do this again and try the guidelines in my topic regarding "Updating to the newest Firmware Version", cause that will be installed now after a FR: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Versa-Versa-Lite/Hassle-free-guide-to-update-your-Versa-s-firmware/t....
