Getting very frustrated

I am getting very frustrated with my Versa 3. I upgraded last year, but it really is not better. I swim at lot which is why I went for the Versa 3. But it does not count the lengths on screen like the the Versa 2 did so you still have to count your lengths, and then when it syncs, it is inevitable wrong. I never finish a swim on an odd length, so telling me I have swam 51 lengths is not right.

 

Also my steps and miles do not match. Yesterday I walked 7.43 miles (using MapMyWalk as a backup) and it recorded 18,501 steps which should equate to 8.24 miles. I am taking part in challenges and each mile is important. Please can I have some suggestions to rectify the inaccuracy's.
