Gps tracking not mapping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My gps map has stopped working properly. It will record distance elevation and everything but the map shows only a little line. Worked fine when first used. My partners versa 2 shows a complete route on the map so it's not signal. But our total distance is very different. Have tried resetting, reinstalling but no change.

Any ideas?

The only cause for this that I am aware of and have documented in the past is that prior to release 3.24 of the iOS app, connected GPS would drop within 10 seconds of the app either 1) being placed in the background (like pulling up a playlist in Music and/or 2) locking the phone's screen. Assisted GPS would connect within 5 seconds of bringing the app to the foreground of an unlocked phone.

You do not mention the type of mobile device you are using for assisted GPS, and I am not aware if Android devices had the same issue.

As soon as I updated to release 3.24 the issue went away and I no longer have a problem with it - at leasts as of a few days ago. I've been hitting the treadmill more than usual and have not gone for my normal neighborhood walk.

Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Thanks for the reply. I was on version 3.24 with the issue and have just checked and as of 28/7 am now on 3.26 still with the issue. Samsung s7 android.

Is there any way I can stop the GPS dropping when phone is locked?

Sorry, but I don't see how I can point you in the right direction other than it looks like the Android app now needs addressing.

As I stated earlier, I do know it was an issue with the Versa 2/iOS app combination that was fixed in 3.24.

Good luck.
