Hi,

I have read some of these posts and see people are having the same issue. Just bought my partner a Fitbit Versa and surprise..... doesn't work over the tattoo’s (have only just found this out through the forum)! Called Fitbit as soon as we realised it wasn't working to be told and they CONFIRMED that it is an issue with the newer devices and the solution I got off the lovely American which to switch to a Non Tattooed area (not possible) Wear a waist band instead (thats no ideal for most people) or remove the Tattoo.
Can anyone on here recommend a FitBit even if it is slightly older, that does work with Tattoo’s? We now cant get a refund from the shop we bought it from which is really annoying, there option was they could swap from another but could face the same problem and they wont swap twice!!
If anyone could point us in the right direction that would be great!!

Hi @Macca90 , if your partner is "heavily" tattood on both wrists, indeed the Fitbit cannot "read" through these. This is a very well known issue. The only option I can think of now is to wear your Fitbit "upside down", e.g. with the display on the bottom of your wrist, instead of on top of it. Restriction though is that if that part of his wrist also is tattooded, it will also not work. It's not the Versa's problem, but the inkt used by tattoes. Regards kuzibri
