I've consistently seen that if I workout without manually selecting a workout to monitor, my logged heart rate during the workout is significantly lower than if I do the workout and manually select a workout to monitor. Even the app, when manually selecting a workout, seems to get confused. For an example, the following image is the heart rate graph from a light weight lifting session I manually selected "Weghts" on my Versa to monitor this morning:
You'll note that the peak heart rate was 156 bpm. Here is the heart rate graph for today so far:
You'll note that according to this, my peak heart rate for the day (which corresponds to when I was lifting weights) is 133 bpm. Why are these so different?
Now, my experience is that if I do NOT manually select "Weights" on my Versa, it will automatically back log me "Walking" as exercise, and the max heart rate will be similar to 133 bpm.
That was just an example. I find that ANY time I manually select an exercise on my Versa to track before I start exercising...the heart rate data is noticeably higher than if I don't. Is there a rational reason for why it does this? To be clear, this is not a Versa only thing. My old Charge 2 did the exact same thing.
I suppose I could wear a chest strap and try to determine which method is more accurate, but even if I did, it doesn't change the fact that the heart rate logged in the exercise doesn't seem to reflect in the heart rate being logged for the day.

I have an up to date version of the app and the same issue. There is a difference in recorded heart rate between the exercise area and the heart rate log. I get this whether I have manually selected exercises (weights, run, swim), or the watch automatically logs exercise. I have a versa 2.
can you please advise when a fix will be available? Should I trust what the watch says my heart rate is or what the heart rate section records it as?

Has there been any update on this? I have a Charge 5 and still having exactly the same issue when recording hear rates manually during my weights vs not selecting an exercise wherein hear rate is typically lower.
