Heart rate only last a few hours after restart

Hi. So I’ve had fitbits the last few years. I’m aware they usually only last a few years. I’ve found the service to be excellent in the past. I’ve either had my Fitbit replaced for free or got a discount if the warranty has gone.

I used the chat feature a few days ago as the heart rate monitor has broken. I’ve done a reset and it works for a few hours then goes again.

after troubleshooting the guy on the chat said it was broken but I have an old fitbit versa so just use that instead. My old fitbit broke a few years ago.

I’d mostly like to fix the fitbit as the guy seemed to be copy and pasting the help. If not I’d like to see if I count for a discount on another one as Ive always had one in the part.

it works fine otherwise, just the green light on the back only works for a short time. Thanks!

Frustrating when things break like that. Particularly when it is related to a firmware release. A discount is nice, but not breaking a working watch with a firmware release would be even nicer.

What watch firmware version are you running? What Fitbit app version?

It’s all up to date with updates as far as I can see. I lost the heart rate about a week ago. I’m not sure if it updated then but I see a lot of people are having a similar issue.

but yeah, I’d like to fix it, I really can’t afford a new fitbit at the moment.

thanks for your help!

Check the actual version of the watch and app. Open the app and tap your profile picture, then tap the device. At the top of the screen it will give you the version number. Then tap “help.& support” and you will have the app version at the top.

One thing that has worked for some is to let the battery drain all the way down, then charge it. Good luck!
