Heart rate sensor/left button not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa HR sensor stopped yesterday.  I have tried restarting, resetting to default settings, and changing clock face back to a Fitbit clock -- all several times with no luck.  Now my left button is periodically not functioning and my Versa screen is randomly opening certain apps that I cannot get out of without shutting down. Please help!

Hello @NHolmes thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I would also like to thank you for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.

At this moment, I would like to suggest you to perform a factory reset on your Fitbit Versa. Note that a factory reset will remove apps, stored data, personal information, credit and debit cards (for Fitbit Pay-enabled devices), and saved settings, so please sync your Versa before proceeding.

To factory reset your device:

On your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data.

After the factory reset you will need to set up your Versa as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, give this a try and let us know the outcome.

@MarcoGFitbit I have performed the factory reset a few times since Tuesday.  I am finally getting  some heart rate sensor readings but only sporadically.  My alarm app is still opening by itself and my left button won't work to close it.  I had downloaded the Air Index app a few days ago. I removed it after I started having problems. Could the app have caused a problem?

My Versa has now completely stopped working and is cycling on and off repetitively by itself.  Tried manually restarting with no luck.  Tried charging, no luck.  It's less than a year old with minimal wear.  Starting to regret this purchase.
