Heart rate while resting (170 bpm)

I have used Fitbit for a long time, got my Versa 2, 3 days ago. It has my heart rate at peak 50-70 % of the time while resting (170 bpm). I love the device, but its useless at its core function, to track my fitness. Is it broken, or is it just the way its work?

Hi @FBNorW,

That's certainly not normal operation. Try performing a restart on the Versa 2 by holding the back button for 10 seconds, until you see the Fitbit logo come up. Do this 3 times in a row, and see if that fixes it.

The problem is that is so easy to code. If no steps, cut heart rate in half. Like sometimes i am on a walk or hike, if i'm on a decent or uphill, I cant be on a Elliptical trainer.

I think they haver power optimized the device, but I want better core functionality. Just take heart rate more often. If I get 12 hrs less I dont care.

You can start a Workout exercise no matter what you're doing, and just let it run. It will take more detailed readings. I sometimes do this to monitor my heart rate more closely during meditation.
