Does the Fitbit stop working properly after to much heat exposure because I am experiencing slowness or not working at all after being in the sun.

Welcome @LaLa124,

I think the answer depends on "how hot". The Versa is rated to operating temperatures of 113F, so anything past that is out of specification.
