High Heart Rate

Couple day back, I was laying down and about to sleep. Which is when I noticed my VERSA was showing very high heartrate. It was approximately hovering between 130 to 160 BPM...

I had then checked up my heart rate using OMORON BP Monitor and old fashion pulse count, all seemed normal. I did shutdown the versa and slept after simple restart and turning off / on the heart rate monitor, yet the problem seemed to have come up again in minutes.

When contacted FITBIT, the person again asked me to do the following

1. Restart VERSA

2. Turn off / on the heartrate monitor

3. Rest to factory setting and then upgrading the firmware

Post step 3, I found VERSA to be working fine until today (which is 2 days after the first time it happened), where I noticed VERSA again showing heart beats above 130+ for hours and I have burnt 4500 calories just by sitting in one place for hours...

This seems to be so bad, misleading health information from the device. I did find that the community already has reported this issue almost a year back and the there was a latest update in MAY 2019 from people who are still facing this issue...

Starting this thread to see if anyone in here actually found the right fix for this yet?

Do bad to see a issue to me it should be a severity 1, being open with no fix from FITBIT for such long... Just passed my warranty period that now I cannot seek for a claim to return the product (for a genuine issue in the product).

I just called today because mine started this. It is 8 months old, so still within warranty period. Was told they are working to resolve the issue, and would not offer a replacement. I have seen in these forums and online this is the common excuse. I have reset mine multiple times today, and it works for just  a short period of time.

How bad it is to see that this problem being reported by so many Fitbit users for such long time and not being fixed yet.

Not sure if Fitbit understands what a severity 1 issue is. If one of your primary functionality is not working as it is intended to then it’s a severity 1 issue and all your workforce should be not sleeping until this is fixed especially when there are so many customers receiving incorrect health data from the device you sell

what is more disheartening is that inspite knowing this product line is having so many users facing this problem, the decision to not call back or continue selling a device that is reporting incorrect health data.

with just being out of warranty I am sure what Fitbit will tell about replacing my device with a new one (a straight NO)

I think it’s time to move out of this faulty device (a hefty loss of dollars). Yet I can’t give it to someone hiding this issue out (it will be no ethics to do so can’t be like Fitbit to continue selling a product line knowing it is reporting incorrect health information that causes panic to the customer owning it.)

not sure how many customers trusted this device and rushed to GP to only find they are fine by paying all the GP fee and the test he/she would have put them through...

I hope they do get sued. I had a pulse ox and my husband's fitbit checking my HR yesterday. It showed I was at 155 resting. I bought this for the HR feature.

I reported them to the BBB. They are not honoring their warranty. I am still covered since its only 8 months old, but they won't replace it because they are working to resolve it. There is a thread over a year old with the same excuse. They told me they wouldn't send me a new one because it would have the same problem!

Expensive lesson learned. Word of mouth and encouraging others to report them to the BBB will be my goal.

Oh my God, me too!!   This scares the bejesus out of me .... I was in the kitchen making lunch, and looked down to see my heart rate was 151 BPM.

As I'm 70 years old, this signaled a massive heart attack.  Needless to say, I was not having a heart attack. A minute later my reading was 82. This happens a lot. I can be reading in bed, and my VERSA tells me my heart is beating at 122 BPM.  My resting heart rate is 77 so this is also crazy.  At first I was terrified by these numbers but now I realize it's a stupid -- and unconscionable --  Fitbit bug.
