How can I replace my Versa screen?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve got my Versa less than 3 weeks ago. It’s working fine but the screen is broken 2 days ago by accident that caused injury as well. I called the Fitbit support and they told me the warranty doesn't cover damage caused by accidents, which totally understandable. But there is no repair store or anywhere I could replace the screen. It’s ridiculous!

Now how can I repair my watch? There should be a process for this kind of situation. What can I do now?

I think people on this thread have very high and probably unreasonable expectations.

If you drop your watch and crack the screen, then it's your fault, don't blame someone else. If Fitbit gives you 25% off a new Versa, it would seem a perfectly reasonable offer.

I have worn a Charge HR and then Charge 2 for over 2 years, and didn't scratch or break screens.

I can only assume the Versa, being so small, can't be repaired, or would take too long to do so, so not economically viable, given its low price. If Fitbit was charging people $150 to replace the screen, you would complain too.

If you had bought a regular watch for $200, and broke the screen, I think it would have to be thrown away in most case. Same applies to many smart watches, or other electronic equipments. Mobile phones are probably the exception.

Apple apparently might replace the Apple Watch if the screen is broken, for an out of service fee worth 75% of the price of the watch. Wait! That's a 25% discount on a new watch then...

Can you tell me who got 25% off?

I called them several times and no one in this thread said that they got reasonable answer from fitbit!

They do nothing but apologize for their fragile product.

We are not blaming anyone (at least I am not) but is it really fair in your mind if the product cracked and you can’t do anything to fix it?

I am afraid at the cost of a Versa it is pretty well disposable to FitBit and not worth repairing.

I do not think FitBit has repaired any of it's devices, they only replace them.

I dropped mine a couple of days ago and today now the screen is glowing, skipping, and fuzzing.  I have a screen protector on it too.  I'm so annoyed at the complete lack of response by this company.  Terrible customer service and if you ask me they deserve to go out of business.  Karma does exist.  I'll be going to a different company now.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but maybe a computer or smartphone repair shop would be able to repair the Versa. I've never seen it heard it done, but it may be worth looking into.

I do, however like the idea of Fitbit having a repair team, as it could benefit all their products, not just the Versa.

Horrible experience trying to get help with my broken versa! They could care less about their customers once they have your money. I will never buy another Fitbit product.

The same thing happened to me.... Cracked screen, they're really sorry but there's nothing they can do.... So 200.00 for one month of use. This is my 5th Fitbit and I've loved them so far, but this is so disappointing I'm looking at other companies. Poor, poor business Fitbit.

Has anyone seen a aftermarket rubberized cover like they make for the iPhones.

I work in a hazardous area and believe it’s a mater of time before mine gets damaged

I believe Fitbit will not cover your watch if it’s an accident, but your home insurance might cover it.

Same here, I tripped while running yesterday morning - had a bad fall, fractured my wrist - my screen I think is scratched badly but it made me wonder how you would get it repaired as I’m surprised, given the way I hit the path, that it wasn’t completely cracked. So disappointing to hear of your experience. It’s a pricey, beautiful item - this Versa Fitbit and I would have hoped a screen glass could be purchased and self replaced.

If I had dropped mine on concrete then maybe I would understand better.  Didn't happen.  This is a fitness watch and should be able to take a little beating.  Didn't happen.  The screen is suppose to be gorilla glass.  I have had every Fitbit that they made. I get the new one every year.  This one lasted 4 days and I have a large scratch on the screen.  IMO this is a manufacturing defect.  If it was only a few people maybe they did something to make it happen but do a Google search and there are lots of people with the same problem.  I have gorilla glass on my phone that is 2 years old and it doesn't have a scratch.

Okay  I dont want them to just give me  new one.  They 1 need to make a better screen  and 2nd you mean to tell me that they dont jave any other screens to replace the crappy ones that broke while I was doing  nothing but sleeping. And I'm willing to pay to fix it. But they dont even give me that option.  They are basically saying u shelled out over $200 dollars for this Fitbit and it broke a month or 2 later.  And I haven't even paid it off yet and I have to buy myself a new one.  That is shady practice

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to pay £200+ (I'm in the UK) and have a watch that's designed to be worn during exercise to have a screen that can stand up to more than just a light tap. My screen cracked while I was cooking....No obvious impact or hard bump and it's ruined. Cannot be used for swimming, which is the main reason I purchased this.

Would you purchase a car, knowing if a tyre was damaged, the windscreen chipped or an engine problem occurred it was impossible to repair and it would mean you had to buy a completely new vehicle? An extreme example but the same principle as what Fitbit are doing with the versa.  People aren't  damaging the watched doing high impact sports, they're being damaged whilst doing every day tasks which means the product is not fit for purpose.

I'm at a stage with fitbit that I have passed my complaint on to an independent consumer ombudsmen in the UK who are investigating and will rule on the best course of action.

Thank you for letting me know about here products.

I will buy some of these - i am fortunate that my Fitbit was just scratched, with one of those it can be protected from  further damage.

I think you are also unreasonable. There is nothing wrong for people to ask how to relace a broken screen and not be told to buy a new one.

Just like some people mentioned, I also have a broken Versa screen that probably broken when I was sleeping restlessly.

A simple question was asked....how can the screen be replaced....which requires a simple answer.

It is OK that you think I am unreasonable in feeling that a $249 sports
watch should be able to be worn while engaged in physical activity. I
completely understand what the question was. I was sharing my experience
which has been shown to not be unusual. Anyone who does not like the
answer is free to just skip to the next response. You may feel you wasted
your time reading it but you wasted more responding to it.

@All

I'm thinking about getting a soft cover before mine falls into the damaged glass bezel.

Here is some to consider for you all.
