How can I replace my Versa screen?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve got my Versa less than 3 weeks ago. It’s working fine but the screen is broken 2 days ago by accident that caused injury as well. I called the Fitbit support and they told me the warranty doesn't cover damage caused by accidents, which totally understandable. But there is no repair store or anywhere I could replace the screen. It’s ridiculous!

Now how can I repair my watch? There should be a process for this kind of situation. What can I do now?

Unfortunately yes, go ahead and buy a new one. HOPEFULLY no a Fitbit. I m just experiencing the same problem. I got my new Versa in July 2018, last week the screen broke.  Fitbit told me they do not have a repair center, I was willing to pay for the repair, I even suggested them to send me a new screen and I will repair it, they told me they don't do that. I asked for a discount coupon to get a new Fitbit , they wont be able to do that either. Really sad but I am not buying anything else form this company

I’m switching over to the Apple Watch! Want to avoid any of these issues!

Today I was walking and hit my arm on the fence and the screen cracked on my new Fitbit Versa. I am wearing it less than two weeks. From all the responses it looks like there is no wan to repair it. I am so so so disappointed and am kicking myself for not going with Garmin. I cannot believe that the screen can be so easily broken. I did not even hit the fence all that hard, just a normal swing of an arm. I am so upset. If anybody finds a solution, please, let me know because I cannot buy a new watch after not even two weeks.

I'm so angry I could scream! I've had my versa for about two months.  I bought a screen protector for it and the screen still cracked!  I called to try to get it repaired and they can't do it! So disappointed! I don't understand a big company like fitbit! Why would they not be able to repair or offer a replacement?  It is a flawed design!  I'm out over $200 and they can't do anything about it!

Sorry to hear about your watch.  Yes, it is differently a design  flaw.  It is not suitable for the purpose it was intended.

Same boat as everyone else! Got my versa in July and I took it off for a few days and it hung out in my car. Picked it up to charge this morning and it looks like it hit something and there’s a crack! Seriously!? This is a FITNESS watch! I’ve had two other Fitbit watches for about 3 years now and they were fine. Stood up to 5 mud runs, marathons, and all the training in between. And this breaks sitting in my CAR!? Seriously!?

And I just made my husband return the Apple Watch he got me for a FitBit because I was such a loyal customer! Ugh. After reading these reviews I’m going to the Apple Watch once this **ahem** dies. Forget Fitbit forever.

I cracked my Versa screen, too. Help us be heard by voting for "Let Us Pay to repair center for Versa Screens"https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Let-Us-Pay-to-repair-center-for-Versa-Screens/id...

I can’t believe they are still selling them knowing they are a faulty product.
What company sells a product knowing that there is a high probability that it will break and not have anything in place to fix the problem.
Consumer affairs should be advised as I posted my issue mths and mths ago and the problem is still happening to innocent consumers.
Fitbit you should be ashamed!!!!

The exact reason why I won’t spend anymore money on the newer more expensive Fitbits other then on a Alta HR or the Flex 2. Better to spend hundreds on a Apple Watch, with the possibility of replacement with Apple care or warranty. They even have the option to pay for screen replacement and repairs. These Fitbit devices are way too expensive not to have a repair option.

I have woke up this morning and my Versa has a crack in the top lefthand side, it has not been knocked or damaged and is less than 2 months old.  I have contacted them and they say there is nothing that can be done, no replacement, no new watch screen, so after being a fitbit lover, I have had a charge, Blaze and now the Versa, I will be moving to Apple as I doubt this will survive in the water :(, gutted.

I have read good things about the Samsung watch.  Maybe look into that if you have as n android phone.

This has happened to me, exactly the same, went to bed and nothing on it, woke up and a crack on it!!! I KNOW it has not been knocked, but Fitbit say its accidental damage and will do nothing to change it nor fix it, even though I have offered to pay for a new screen as it is now not waterproof.  There is a fault with these screens, I have had a charge, blaze and surge ... no scratches or marks on the screens and just updated because I wanted new ones for different reasons.

Sorry to hear of your experience.
Such a shame about the quality. I get scared every time I accidentally bump mine. It already has scratches but so far still working but I would not chance getting it wet.
They are so beautiful, I excitedly awaited mine, but from what many people are finding, they just don’t seem to have much longevity. There seems to be no comment from FitBit about the issue.

The only response people seem to be getting is "oh well, you didn't by insurance".  The problem I have is that it was not made durable enough for its intended purpose.  Shame because I always had nought fitbit.  This is my last.

Bought my Versa in May, and found it fairly satisfactory. Unfortunately, it fell onto a tile floor in August and the screen shattered, at which point I discovered that FitBit considers these devices disposable, and won't even sell repair services. I just bought an AppleWatch ($259 and fully serviceable, imagine that!) I can comfortably say I will never be returning to FitBit.

I have a crack screen too!

So far in all the post, there is no solution to a cracked Fitbit versa screen. These are a few viable options other than getting a new Versa. Which I will recommend another brand!

Simple method to remove scratches
https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Scratches-on-a-FitBit

Fitbit Versa Tear down
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwGX-nUGTeI

The issue here is that I can't find the Fitbit Versa replacement screen - so it doesn't make sense remove the broken screen/glass - unless I can get a replacement.

So I am still stuck at the broken screen!

Alternative if your glass is still viewable is to place a tempered glass over the cracked glass just to use the Fitbit versa.

Anyone with better options let us know!!!

Fitbit versa teardown. Looks like this is the first true teardown of the Fitbit Versa. I had an issue with my unit so I got a replacement. I was told to recycle the old one but I decided instead to take it apart and see what made it tick. I was surprised to see that I needed to use a fine nail ...
