How do I edit my exercise?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit, can we please have a manual way to edit running distance? With connected GPS being off by miles and that then messing up what my automatic stride length for treadmill running (making a 3 mi run in to a 0.86 mi run!), all of my running exercises are way off.

This is also throwing off my cardio health measure because it looks like my heart rate is super high for a shorter than mile run. Anyone got a fix suggestion for this? The Versa is very slowly starting to become kinda useless.

It's great to see you around @fitnessrealist.

Regarding your request, you can edit your exercise by doing the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. Tap the exercise tile.
  2. Tap the exercise you want to edit.
  3. Tap the pencil icon.
  4. Edit the information.
  5. Sync

Also, you can manually edit your stride length information by following the instructions provided in this post. About the heart rate, in this other post are some tips you can follow in order to have a better reading.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Robot Happy

@AlejandraFitbit I have the android app and when I tap the exercise, there is no pencil icon. I only have options to either share or delete

Thanks for the update @fitnessrealist.

Could you please provide me with a screenshot of this option by following the instructions provided in this post? In the meantime, you can take a look at the attached image to have an idea about where to find the edit option.

@AlejandraFitbit No edit option in Android Fitbit App

Best Answer

Thanks for the screenshot @fitnessrealist.

Could you please tell me how are you logging your activity? Are you doing it manually? Since if you are, manually logged activities don't have the edit option, in this case you need to delete the activity and manually enter it again.

My recommendation here is to select the exercise directly from your Versa. For more information, take a look at the help article How do I use exercise apps and modes on my Fitbit device?.

@AlejandraFitbit All exercise has been started from the Versa exercise app. Weirdly my versa is automatically recognizing me working (I'm a personal trainer) and logging it as "sport", which I can edit. So it seems that me selecting an exercise in the exercise app on the versa is what I can't edit.

I'm also having the same issue with the android app.

Can't figure out how to do it in the web app either.

Pretty sure the feature is not yet supported in android based on this support article: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1306?q=Exercise&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1

IOS: "Tap or click the exercise you want to edit or delete."

Android: "Tap the exercise you want to delete."

I do not have the pencil icon to edit an exercize. I can see it for some of the exercizes but not all? This is the same in the android app and the dashboard online.

I don't have the pencil icon either and my distance is being tracked incorrectly on runs so I would like to manually change the distance so it doesn't throw out my stats - it currently looks as if I am extremely unfit and my VO2 score now looks terrible. Are you able to advise when this feature will be available for Android?

Hi All

Did anyone find a solution to this. I find it most frustrating after a swim.

I regularly use my kickboard which doesn't get picked up by my Versa.

I'd like to adjust the swim distance accordingly.. .

I am also having this issue with my android (galaxy S9 plus) and my Charge 2.  I accidentally forgot to end my exercise on my Fitbit and I didn't catch it until an hour and a half later.

I agree that the Versa is quickly becoming ridiculously and effective. I just received it at Christmas as a replacer for an older Smartwatch and I am seriously considering switching back very soon. This is just one of the many issues that I am seeing with the Versa that Fitbit is completely ignoring. Some of the most mundane and easily fixed problems are being ignored for years. Fitbit doesn't even care. I am having the same issue with being able to edit some activities but unable to edit the inaccurate mileage for all of my runs. At this point, what is even the use of using this dang thing.

There is no pencil icon!!!!!!!!!

I also have this issue, seems like Fitbit just doesn't care.

In general, there is no real activity edit support. In Android app, the 'pencil' icon appears for automatically detected activities and for Workout, for which all you can edit is only the name ( from what I see, it's no different in the Dashboard ). As a workaround for non-GPS activities ( or when you don't care about a map ), you can log manually exercise after previously recording it. You have to use the same timeframe and copy number of calories from the recorded activity. The rest of the stats fill to your liking. Then delete the recorded one. I do it for the treadmill, rowing machine and other activities for which the watch isn't able to figure out certain stats. Inability to edit the whole exercise after tracking is ridiculous. With PolarBeat first thing I do after completing any of such activities is editing missing data in the app. With Fitbit, I leave applying "workaround" for later as it's time-consuming.

This doesn't work for me. I have the pencil icon, but when I try to edit, everything is greyed out except the name of the exercise.

Still nothing. not that hard for one programmer to setup a darn edit button. Been way too long, wish I read things like this before I chose this over the galaxy watch. Time to start placing bad reviews wherever I can.

It would be awesome if we could edit from the website. Might be worth developing fitbit. Really annoying.
