How do I edit my exercise?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit, can we please have a manual way to edit running distance? With connected GPS being off by miles and that then messing up what my automatic stride length for treadmill running (making a 3 mi run in to a 0.86 mi run!), all of my running exercises are way off.

This is also throwing off my cardio health measure because it looks like my heart rate is super high for a shorter than mile run. Anyone got a fix suggestion for this? The Versa is very slowly starting to become kinda useless.

I am so very frustrated to see this has been an ongoing issue for so many and FitBit is not addressing it.  Obviously they cater to iPhone users, and could care less about Android users.

I just had this issue happen to me for the VERY first time, and am beyond frustrated especially since I see that it has happened to so many and for YEARS!  To not correct?  And yes, would it take that much for them to add a pencil icon on the Android platform so we can make these adjustments to record our personal fitness goals?  UGH!

I so agree with you!

I agree and this should be another update/improvement they should make.  When inputting an exercise that we are doing, it should be able to detect that the exercise has been completed.  I'm forgetting to stop my exercise way too often and am getting inaccurate numbers which affects my goals.  UGH!

If I had a penny for every time I forgot to end an exercise (workout, walk, bike, etc), I would be rich and could retire today.    Nothing is more frustrating as my stupid Ionic "smartwatch" lol, will keep tracking forever...  No warning, no alert, and NO WAY TO EDIT OR CORRECT THE EXERCISE.  This is absolutely unbelievable as it completely ruins all the statistics. Many times I have left the gym and forgot to end my workout only to discover my ionic still tracking the workout hours later (I wish I could last for a six hour weight lifting session!)   I sometimes forget to end my bike ride and my Ionic will keep right on tracking until the battery is dead (GPS is on for bike ride).  Recently I forgot to end my walking session and, after a car ride home, it was still tracking (GPS on and battery almost dead).  All these botched exercises completely ruin my exercise stats. How hard would it be to write "simple" code to detect if an activity has ended, vibrate the tracker, and display a message such as "Are you still walking?" or  "Are you still working out?".  This is something an sixth grader could probably do.  Simple algorithms such as, "person is traveling at 60mph, maybe this person isn't walking any more?"....  or "heart rate is 55bpm (resting HR), maybe this person isn't working out any more?"  Come on Fitbit, this the final quarter of the year 2020.

I'm having exactly the same issue - forgetting to end the activity and thereby it throws the times and statistics out.  No pencil icon here either on Android or even on the main fitbit site here on the big computer.  Surely Fitbit could organise for us to manually edit the logged activities?  Pretty please fitbit.

the pencil icon does not appear on android or fitbit.com for a run?

It's been a long while since I went for a bone fide run, but I can't see a pencil icon to edit any of my regular activities like treadmill or karate, and I never recall seeing one when I did run outside.  Things like weight can be tracked by manual entry, I can't see the problem with being able to edit things like end times and distance, and calories.  Even when you can enter things from scratch like a fresh treadmill reading you can't enter distance or speed which seems rather daft - how can you properly enter a treadmill reading if you can't edit either of those?

I see this has been an issue for a while. My Ionic died on my hike today (it went longer than I expected, I should have charged before I went!) so the timing got messed up, as it didn't stop the exercise until I got home and charged it enough to sync. It added an hour to my hike, and totally botched the stats. All I need to do is edit the time to the proper time and milage (which I have tracked on my phone with another app) but that isn't an option. How has it been 2 years and that isn't an option yet?

Oh really? Well this will be my first and last Fitbit then.

My workaround is to look at the exercise as it has been recorded which allows me to see the start time.

After that I delete the exercise.

Then I go and log the exercise with that start time and, as I have a 60 minute routine that's what I put it down as.

As it's a regular routine I fill in the calories as a rough average of the previous few times.

It's not ideal, but it does then at least display the exercise within the correct time, with the correct heart rates and zones for that period, although the calorie count is averaged.

I have an apple phone and when I click on active minutes it takes me to a schedule of active minutes but I do not see the pencil to tap on and change the number of active minutes.

In the Android app you can only edit the type of the excercise (say from 'Walk' to 'Hike') but if you have an iPad and have installed the iOS app then you can change the start and finish times. But the bad news is the Total Calories, Total Steps, Average Heart Rate aren't updated. The Calories / Min of is updated, but as it is based on the wrong Total Calories the figure will be an overestimate.

Hi Fitbit,

I often forget to stop the watch at the end of an activity and I wish the watch would auto-detect the end of my effort but it does not 😞

When I make no more effort and the speed is changing to be 100 km/h, I can't be running anymore...

Anyway, even with autodetection it could go wrong sometine, and the possibility to edit it, somehow, seems to be a must.

If it's too difficult to have it available on Android, could you at least make it available on the website ?

Regards

So, it's three years later and this is still an issue.  I just bought a new Sense and I ran 4 miles on the treadmill this morning but it was recorded as 2.6.  Like the OP, I have no pencil icon to edit.  Only delete.

I was pretty excited about the Sense, but honestly I've been pretty underwhelmed for a $300 fitness tracker.

The pencil icon does not appear on Android app neither fitbit.com dashboard!

Yeah, it's bizarre.  Fitbit only implemented it on the Windows and the iPhone app.  It's kind of odd considering that most likely Apple people have an iWatch and I didn't even know there was a Windows app.

Users have been asking to add an activity editing feature for over three years now and nothing has been done. This is  unbearable, I am going to post bad reviews everywhere I can and I hope that people thinking about buying a fitbit read them.

Just came here with the same issue, using a new Charge 5 with the Android app. Did a one hour workout but didn't remember to END it until after shower. Expected to be able to adjust the END of the workout on the web site or in the Android app. Apparently you can't? Ridiculous!
