How do I recalibrate my Fitbit?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Good morning!  Before I got out of bed today my Fitbit showed 350 steps and 500 calories burned.  Clearly my daily totals will be off when I have this head start.  How do I reset to zero to start the day?

Hi @LMorgan3111 ,

The stats automatically reset at midnight, there's not much manual adjustment that I know of. The steps can be negated by creating an activity called driving, and setting the start and stop times of when you want the steps deleted. This feature is used for when people pick up extra steps while in a car.

The calories may not be an error. Due to our BMR, we are burning calories even while sleeping. Not sure how long you slept or if 500 calories is correct between midnight and when you woke up. But I thought it should be mentioned you should always wake up with some calories burned.

The 500 calories are your BMR (basic metabolic rate) calories that you are always burning just by being alive.  They are always credited, even if you are not wearing the tracker.

For more on this, see:

How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
