So I bought my new Versa yesterday evening, and today I'm connecting it to the app. It says the Fitbit needed an update, and it would only take 30 minutes. I've been here two hours and its not even halfway updated, and, I'm still trying to set it up. any suggestions?

My Fitbit refuses to update via Wifi, so I've been sitting here without use of my phone for well over an hour. The "progress" bar has barely moved. I just tried to back out of the update because I kinda need to use my phone. It won't let me. The very least you could have done was to have a message stating the update would take forever BEFORE the update started. The only warning message I received was given to me AFTER the update started, and that said it could take over 20 minutes, which I feel is a gross misrepresentation. Thank you, once again, Fitbit, for making a product that complicates things. This one was the last chance. When it breaks (which I know it will do probably right after the warranty expires since that's what all the others have done), I will be moving on to a different brand.

trying to update my fitbit....first try resulted in different languages just replaying - all my info was gone. Trying again, but it is over 2 hours....how long is "takes a while"??

I am so confused!! I got given the Fitbit Versa Lite for my B-day and I'm finally setting it up. These are the steps I followed : Open the Fitbit app, Join Fitbit, Filled in all my details, Then started updating it, Then it said UPDATE FAILED and took my back to the normal home screen but my fitbit still said TO START, DOWLOAD THE FITBIT APP. When I clicked on update tracker on (the home screen on the app on my phone) it said searching. It has been like this for ages and ages whereas my mum's fitbit, updated in a few minutes! I appear to be looking at a different screen to what everyone has described. It says searching at the botto and keeps telling my to plug in my fitbit (which it already is!) and showing my the directions. I have just x-ed out of it and it now has a pink box saying updating, but no bar to tell me how far done it is! Please somebody help me! How do I know how long it is going to take? I've been at it since 10 this morning!

If you are lucky you can update any type of fitbit product. Their technology is horrible. I first bought surge and that watch latest be almost 2 years but strap started to rip and they said no replacement straps but can give me 20% off. OK I am an idiot I next went to ionic watch. Worst watch syncing issues. So I tried customer service and they could not help and this was all within first 2 months.. And they kept sending me REfurbished watches lol
None of them would work until a 4rth one... And that one lasted to almost my 11tg month.. Then I started this horrible process again of them sending me reburshed watches... Until my warrantee ran out then they said good bye as I am not under warrantee anymore. So I got use from about end of month 3 to end month 11 so max 8 months... That is horrible service and intention and downright cheap. My wife bought me versa bee using but my friend gave me a Huwaii which is way better... Syncs faster then any fitbit I had.. No issues... Decent price.
I have not bothered to update my versa software cause I know it's dead after. I have been comparing hand in hand the two. Re versa and Huwaii and heavan and hell difference
Huwaii takes just few min to sync..
I was lucky I never tried updating surge software as thag would of died too. If you want to waste your money buy fitbit products.. They are a scam!

Update failed over Bluetooth on Versa
If you have trouble updating your watch over bluetooth, try these steps to resolve the problem:

I have the same issue, bough a new versa lite. During set up it says the versa needs an update to continue which I am trying to do but 3 hours and 3 attempts later I am still having no success, the Fitbit keeps vibrating and flickering to the original screen of how to setup then reconnects so thinking it’s a connection issue. If it doesn’t work this time I will remove from the app and try the setup again to see if it works otherwise it will be going back.

that is crazy. who has that much time and locking up my phone usage. plus, mine doesn't work at all!!!!
retry 6 times already. what a waste of time.
