Inaccurately calculating distance

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Multiple times this week my FitBit Versa Lite has not been calculating my run distances correctly. It is .20-.30 off some days then accurate on other days.

I contacted customer service the other night and the guy helping me was incredibly unhelpful. See screenshot.

My FitBit is up to date and only a few months old. I do have GPS enabled.

I am training for a half marathon and rely on my FitBit to be accurate...

What can I do?

I just went through this! Though not perfect by any means, the Versa 2 app can be set to auto adjust the Stride units of measurement or you can manually do this. To manually adjust these settings, you need to first determine your stride for both running and walking. When you have determined those two, go into the Mobile or desktop apps, find the Advanced Settings (Phone - click your profile pic, scroll down past your Devices to Advanced settings) & (Desktop - from Dashboard main, click the device in the upper right to drop it down, click it again to expose your profile pic and details about your devices. Scroll down from here to the Advanced settings) Click Advanced setting then click Stride Length; on the phone it's at the bottom, on the PC app, it's in a widget to the right. Google "how to determine Stride Length" and find a how to that you can understand. Also note that the Tracking mechanism in the Versa 2 is not GPS, you need your phone with you when out for a run or walk, And most important, any excessive hand movements WILL & DO count as steps.
