I've had a Fitbit for over 3 years and just got my first friend request from a shady person. I contacted Fitbit and they were not at all helpful. This is his/her profile; "want chat with a guy because I'm very lonely😔 Write me here please -xxx I was told to block, which I will, but shouldn't Fitbit be blocking these people once they're made aware? And why is there no link to report suspicious activity. It's bad enough I have to deal with this crap on FB and constantly blocking scam phone numbers. Now Fitbit???

I just received an email friend request from somebody on Fitbit that was inappropriate. Naked woman taking a selfie in front of a mirror. Why????? And there is nothing in the article about how to report that. I got my teen a Fitbit too and I'm glad she isn't getting these shady emails. I turned off the option for friend requests in her app, but she can always turn it back on.

I received that exact same request - for my 8 year old!!! Luckily requests have to come through me as her parent, but I am very alarmed how the kids fitbit that she has only had for 3 days is not protecting kids.
