Incorrect Distance Tracking on Treadmill - Versa 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I run on a treadmill the Versa 3 distance tracked makes no sense and is a lot different to the treadmill - for instance today I did 5261 steps, my stride length is 27.2"; multiplying No steps x stride length then dividing by 63,330 (inches/mile) I should have run 2.258 miles, instead my exercise tracked 2.03 miles.  The treadmill tracked me as running 3.5km which is is about 2.19 miles.  I appreciate the distance won't be 100% accurate on the Versa, but surely it calculates No of Steps x stride length to arrive at a distance travelled (when not using GPS)?  This clearly isn't working correctly

Hello @Grebe68 and welcome to the Community.  This explanation is from a moderator.  The Treadmill shortcut uses your walking stride length.  To get your running stride length, use the Run shortcut with GPS off.

I think this will get you a little closer, but it will never be perfect.  Changing speeds and inclines will also add data errors.
