ok my old galaxy s4 has died so need a new phone on the list it says samsung galaxy J but not what ones ?? 

so my question is will the Samsung galaxy J3 work with the fitbit versa ?

No it wont. The only J series that is supported is the J. A lot of people have issues with the J3 and Fitbits so I wouldnt risk it.
